University of West Alabama: Academic Affairs: College of Liberal Arts: Department of English and History Location University of West Alabama Open Date Apr 20, 2026 Description The Department of English and History at the University of West Alabama invites applications for Adjunct Faculty positions to teach composition and American Literature courses. Teach graduate courses in Literature or composition. Design and deliver engaging, high-quality instruction aligned with program outcomes. Maintain regular communication with students and program faculty. Student emails should be responded to within 24 hours. Qualifications Required: Earned Master's degree from an accredited University, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching in online and/or blended learning environments. Commitment to academic excellence, professional integrity, and student success. Preferred: Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle). Before hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation, including information obtained from social media and other internet sources.
