Overview: A Respiratory Therapist (RT) is a healthcare professional trained in diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory issues. Common Duties and Responsibilities:

Respiratory Care: Administer treatments to improve breathing, such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments).

Equipment Management: Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices. Ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment.

Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations like respiratory failure, asthma attacks, or trauma, providing immediate life-saving interventions.

Patient Education: Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea. Teach proper techniques for using respiratory devices and medications.
