Sanitation Associate

Total Store Sanitation LeadAs a Total Store Sanitation Lead, you'll serve as the subject matter expert for sanitation and food safety, and lead the team with a total store mindset. You'll perform supervisory responsibilities, such as scheduling work, and training and developing partners. Key responsibilities include store lead operations/training, sanitation, and customer service.Store Lead Operations / Training:Provides work direction and training to other departmental personnelDirectly supervises 3 to 4 employees in the departmentCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsMay help prepare work schedules for departmentMay serve as backup to department manager; typically works opposite shift to managerEnsures food safety and sanitation standards are achieved by following SOPs and overseeing daily process execution; ensures other partners comply as wellCommunicates recaps, needs, process improvements, problems, or solutions to store leadersPerforms duties of total store sanitation team frequentlySanitation:Maintains department cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency and prioritizationDeep cleans/disinfects processing areas and departments, including equipment, fixtures, coolers, floors, and drainsMaintains proper documentation and certification of chemical handling and sanitation verification functionsUses H-E-B chemical program and correctly organizes/maintains stock in maintenance roomApplies basic knowledge of product, product handling, and food preparation processesApplies basic knowledge of assembly and use of department equipment for sanitation purposesApplies knowledge of different types of insects or rodents and placement/use of pest control trapsCustomer Service:Provides excellent customer serviceAddresses complaints and resolves problemsAnswers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selectionsQualifications & Key Requirements:Age Requirement: 18+Work Experience: 6+ months of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience1+ years of experience as a Sanitation Specialist and leader, or equivalent experience (preferred)Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of OSHA GuidelinesBasic knowledge of product, product handling, and food preparation processesBasic knowledge of assembly and use of department equipment for sanitation purposesStrong verbal/written communication skillsTime-management skillsAbility to prioritize competing tasks; attention to detailAbility to learn to operate equipment from various store departmentsAbility to take initiative and do what needs to be done; ability to work under minimum supervisionAbility to work with a team mindsetAbility to work late evenings and overnight schedulesAbility to identify types of insects or rodents and place/use pest control trapsAbility to speak effectively before groups of partners or customersAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsCustomer service-orientedEducation: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 6+ months of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceLicenses/Certifications: Completion of Company Orientation, Basics of Safety, Annual Food Handler, basic HAZMAT/Chemical Safety, and Certified Food Manager certifications - upon hirePhysical Demands & Working Conditions:Constantly walk, reach at waist, graspFrequently push/pull with armsOccasionally stand, reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb stairs, climb ladders, pivot, twist, pinch, perform fine motor movementsOccasionally be exposed to cold, ambient temperatures, loud noise and wet conditionsDemonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, and manage in excess of 50 lbs
