Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum experience required: 2 years as RN, one full year ortho/neuro/trauma, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
Recent Epic experience required.
Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices (back brace, immobilizer), Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test; stepdown experience only), and PIV insertion.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Chest tube/indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck's traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, wounds (packing, wound vacs).

Required Credentials:
Education: Associate Degree or Certificate

Special Requests:
Contract length options: 13 or 20 weeks.
Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new-hires.

Unit Details:
Patient population: Trauma, Ortho (broken hip/femur), Neuro (scheduled neck and back, spine/rib fractures).
Ratios: Days 1:3-5; NOCs 1:4-7; charge nurse takes patients on nights, but rarely on days.
May require precepting students and new-hires.

Shift & Scheduling:
Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.
Flexible contract hours: 36 per week; 48 per week available upon request.

Floating Requirements:
First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. xhyhwjd Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
