CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

The CNA will work closely with nurses and other care team members to support daily resident needs. Give quality care to ensure the safety and comfort of all patients. Assist with feeding and ensuring residents take their medication. Have a familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions. Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safety and properly. Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, family members and staff at every level of the organization. Be able to enter resident information into a computerized database, giving attention to details. Demonstrate and maintain competence in all nurse aide skills required by SSMO infirmary policies. Be comfortable working with elderly patients and those with special needs Improve skills through continued training. Qualifications Current CNA Certificate. Understand HIPAA regulations for privacy. Maintain and possess current CPR training and certificate. Have basic dietary knowledge. Be able work weekends on a rotation basis. Able to pass an Oregon DHS background check. Excellent interpersonal skills, including, patience, empathy and compassion Effective communication, listening and reading skills, including the ability to speak English. Physical Requirements Required to stand or walk for prolonged periods, especially when conducting facility tours or performing building rounds. Ability to lift, push, pull or move at least 50 pounds independently on occasion. May occasionally assist with patient transfers or evacuations, which can involve moving up to 200 pounds with assistance or equipment. Requires regular bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling.
