Assistant Baseball Coach

The Assistant Baseball Coach will support all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II baseball program, with a primary emphasis on teaching, instruction, and student‑athlete development. This role is primarily focused on on‑field and off‑field instruction, including skill development, baseball fundamentals, conditioning, strategy education, and the overall educational and athletic advancement of student‑athletes within the program. This position requires a strong commitment to student‑athlete development, academic success, compliance, and recruiting. The assistant coach will help conduct all aspects of the program within the philosophy and guidelines set forth by Shepherd University, the NCAA, and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Minimum Qualifications Collegiate and/or high‑level baseball playing or coaching experience Demonstrated ability in teaching, instruction, and skill development Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills CPR / AED certification required (must obtain if not certified at time of hire) Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications Prior collegiate coaching experience Recruiting experience at the NCAA level Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations (Division II preferred) Background in teaching, kinesiology, exercise science, sport coaching, or related field preferred Benefits Wide range of health insurance and other benefits 401(a) retirement savings with 6% contribution match; eligibility to continue health insurance post‑retirement, and other retiree perks Tuition waivers for employees and their dependents Appointment to this position will be contingent upon a satisfactory background check. #J-18808-Ljbffr Stubblefield Institute
