Responsibilities: As a Consulting Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Interpreting and applying medical billing codes accurately to ensure correct billing.
• Analyzing and verifying all charges to ensure accurate billing data.
• Running and interpreting complex reports to identify billing errors and inconsistencies.
• Collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Implementing strategic plans to improve billing procedures and reduce errors.
• Training and mentoring staff on new billing procedures and regulations.
• Providing expert advice on billing practices, rules, and regulations.
• Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborating with the finance team to reconcile billing issues and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assisting in the development of policies and procedures that improve efficiency and reduce billing errors.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Consulting Medical Billing Specialist role should have:

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing.
• Extensive knowledge of medical billing codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in running and interpreting complex reports.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on changes in the healthcare industry.
• Certification in Medical Billing or related field is preferred.
