Responsibilities Meridell Achievement Center is a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 10 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning. Website: As a Therapist at Meridell Achievement Center, you'll be part of a dynamic and compassionate treatment team dedicated to providing exceptional care to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and neurobehavioral challenges. You'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing individualized therapeutic plans, working closely with patients, and families to achieve remarkable outcomes. Hours will be 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Your Impact:

- Manage a caseload of up to 11 patients, providing personalized therapy and support to help them overcome their challenges
- One individual and 1 family session per week
- Lead psychoeducation and process groups to empower patients and families with valuable skills and knowledge
- Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare dispositions to ensure seamless transitions for patients
- Serve as the liaison between the treatment team and families/community stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and collaboration
- Document progress notes and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in weekly treatment team staffings and team meetings to stay connected with your unit team members

- Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or a similar educational degree required.
Experience:
- Two years post-licensure experience, advanced training or certification in an evidence-based practice such as EMDR, CBT, or DBT
- One year of clinical experience in RTC setting
- One year of group facilitation experience
- Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- Current State of Texas license as a PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMSW, LMFT-A, or LPC-A, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Current driver license.
