What this job involves As a Building Maintenance Assistant at JLL, you will play a vital support role in preserving the physical assets and operational excellence of our clients' facilities. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be a self‑motivated, energetic team member who assists with the day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs that keep buildings, systems, and equipment running smoothly. Your work will directly impact the safety, comfort, and functionality of the spaces where people work every day. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Assist with general interior building maintenance activities to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. Perform daily facility inspections and report on existing conditions, identifying any hazards or areas requiring attention. Monitor client security systems and spaces, ensuring safety protocols are maintained and escalating issues to the Maintenance Mechanic as necessary. Identify and address lighting or equipment issues by performing minor repairs such as changing lightbulbs and replacing water filters. Support client moves by relocating office furniture, equipment, and materials, and delivering supplies as requested. Participate in emergency response situations as part of the facilities team. Follow proper safety procedures when storing or using equipment and hazardous materials. Assist with the Operational Compliance Program (OCP) and complete required technical and safety training. Update work order status in the ticketing system to maintain accurate maintenance records. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent certification. Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety standards and procedures. Strong listening skills with the ability to understand and execute assigned tasks effectively. Physical ability to support your body repeatedly or continuously for extended periods using abdominal and lower back muscles. Capability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach with your body, arms, and legs as required by maintenance tasks. Manual dexterity to quickly move your hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Physical capability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects that may be 25+ pounds. Ability to see and hear details clearly in order to identify and diagnose facility problems. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities support, or a related field. Familiarity with work order management systems and basic computer skills. Customer service orientation with strong interpersonal communication abilities. Proactive problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
