Title Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Clinical Pediatrics Specific Title Pediatric Cardiologist Appointment Type Clinical Track Faculty Department IUSM - Pediatrics Campus IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Summary The Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking to add a clinical track faculty physician to provide patient care and serve as a clinician educator. Home to a high-volume, nationally ranked pediatric cardiology program, Riley Children’s Health delivers the full continuum of cardiac care from fetuses and premature infants to adults with congenital heart disease. Achieving exceptional patient outcomes, the Riley Heart Center has experienced significant growth in recent years. In addition to offering specialists in every clinical area of cardiology, we are active in research to address unmet needs in pediatric cardiology. In this specific role, the clinical work will include the evaluation and management of children with or concert for heart disease. Additionally, there will be participation as one of our imaging faculty which will include the interpretation of transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiograms plus cross-sectional imaging of cardiac MRI and/or cardiac CT. There will be inpatient duties, weekend coverage, and overnight call shared amongst partners. Finally, there will be collaborative efforts to identify additional strategic program involvement to expand cardiology services in communities across the state. During clinical duties, this faculty member will be responsible for the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students. The Department of Pediatrics at IUSM/Riley Hospital for Children is a 398-member faculty that is consistently within the top 10 pediatric departments in NIH funded research in the United States and has 19 Fellowship programs. There is a new large pediatric clinical research center, a new pediatric outpatient center dedicated to general pediatrics and neurodevelopment related divisions in pediatrics, genetics, and psychiatry. There are also State‑of‑the‑art laboratories in a dedicated pediatric research building, a clinical research center, a well‑functioning biobank, six T32 fellow training grants and one K12s that support research in the Department. Our nationally recognized Division of Children’s Health Research is available for collaboration and as a resource for combined fellowships with the pediatric hospitalist program. The Department also has research relationships with the Regenstrief Institute in Health Informatics. Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology are strong research partners. Completion of pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship programs. Must be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics & Pediatric Cardiology.
