Production Associate / AssemblerLocation: Fort Wayne, INPay: Starting at $22.28/hr, with opportunities to earn up to $24.53/hr through shift differential and cross-training. Paid weekly on Fridays.Shift Differential:Non-Continuous (8-hour): 2nd shift +$1.00/hr, 3rd shift +$1.25/hrContinuous (12-hour): Day shift +$0.35/hr, Night shift +$1.25/hr Differential applies to employee's home shift.Shifts: Multiple schedules available:12-hour (2-2-3): Days 5:00am–5:30pm / Nights 5:00pm–5:30am (includes every other weekend)8-hour (Mon–Fri): 1st shift 6:00am–2:30pm / 2nd shift 2:00pm–10:30pmBenefits Start: Day 1Starting pay $22.28/hr with progression and shift premiums (up to $24.53/hr)Paid vacation, sick time, and 11 paid holidaysHealth, dental, and vision insurance (Day 1)401k with company matchQuarterly bonus opportunity (4% of gross wages)Free employee battery programPPE, uniforms, safety glasses, safety shoes (up to $150 annually), and earplugs provided$1,000 referral bonusRecognition programsJob Responsibilities:Remove jumpers and aside, slide battery from layer board onto conveyor, aside hi-rise lumber, maintains efficient production flow, stack off obvious rejects, remove process vents, top off according to specification, perform process and quality checks as specified, replace process vents with finish vents.Polish terminals using appropriate hand or wire brush and remove residue from cover. Operate manual hirater or bitrode and/or OCV meter to test quality. Shrink-wrap batteries as required. Use hand brander as needed.Decorate batteries according to customer requirements. Able to retrieve specs from computer terminal. Maintains adequate decoration stock on line.Stack off rejects to pallet. Palletize batteries to customer requirements utilizing BES procedures and equipment, maintaining accurate production counts and filling customer orders as complete as possible.Participates in developing and improving Standard Work Practices for each area and consistently reviews them for effectiveness through team meetings and practice.Service washer and dryer as necessary. Clean or wipe batteries as needed. Repair posts on batteries as needed. Keep work area clean and orderly, clean machines and area per shift and perform regular preventative maintenance.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required1+ year manufacturing or warehouse experience preferredAbility to work 8-hour or 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekendsBasic math, reading, and computer skillsComfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing repetitive physical tasksMust be able to wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, uniform, and safety boots)U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident status required (no sponsorship available)About the Plant:Our Fort Wayne, Indiana Distribution Center opened in 1999 and now employs more than 130 people.
