Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Summary:
Provide mental health care and support to patients within the Behavioral Health Unit, ensuring safety and effective treatment. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to evaluate patient needs and monitor progress.
• Administer medications and manage treatment plans according to established protocols.
• Perform routine procedures such as glucose checks, monitoring labs, and using medical equipment.
• Observe patient behavior and document clinical observations accurately in the EMR system.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to protocols, including CPI and BLS standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and families to support emotional well-being and treatment adherence.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current certification in BLS.
• Minimum two years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
• Ability to perform assessments, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and kindness required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, without on-call responsibilities.
