PMHNP - Psychiatry - Park Rapids, MN

Overview Park Rapids, MN – Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – 1.0 FTE (full‑time) Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Provide behavioral health services to individuals and families across the continuum of care, primarily in outpatient settings with occasional inpatient or ED consults. Key Responsibilities Conduct health screenings and psychiatric evaluations. Prescribe, monitor, manage, and evaluate psychopharmacological medications. Provide integrated mental health services in general health settings. Collaborate with psychiatrists, seeking consultation when necessary, and refer patients to other providers as needed. Participate in the interdisciplinary team to promote behavioral health services throughout the continuum of care. Maintain high level of customer service skills to foster positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Required Qualifications Master’s or Doctorate degree in a related field with a specialty focus in mental health. Certified by a professional organization in mental health promotion and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. State licensure as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) with a Psychiatry Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ). Current CPR certification and national certification in the applicable area. Proficiency in advanced health assessment (both physical and mental), pathophysiology, pharmacology/psychopharmacology, and medication management of psychiatric illness. Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills, in addition to strong oral and written communication abilities. Ability to build effective working relationships and exercise tact, discretion, and diplomacy in a high‑pressure environment. Basic computer skills and proficiency with keyboard use. Education & Licensure After completion of graduate or post‑graduate clinical training, candidates must successfully complete the Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
