Veterinarian (Part-Time)

Job Title: Veterinarian Reporting to: VP of Community Engagement Hours: Fridays, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10 hours/week) Compensation: $48.00 – $52.00 per hour (depending on experience) Location: Minnetonka, in person Position Overview We are a full-service veterinary clinic that operates as part of a social enterprise, focusing on community-driven, market-rate services. The Veterinarian will manage client-owned animals on Fridays, providing outpatient medicine, diagnostics, chronic case care, client education, and support for the clinic staff. The role is medicine-heavy with a focus on wellness, diagnostics, and chronic disease management. Position Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wellness exams, vaccinations, and diagnostic workups for sick-patient visits. Order and interpret diagnostic tests (including digital radiography and in-house/send‑out laboratory work) to develop effective treatment plans. Manage chronic medical cases such as dermatology, internal medicine, and geriatric care, ensuring continuity for regular clients. Provide clear, empathetic communication regarding diagnoses, preventive health, and long-term treatment to foster client trust. Support the Friday clinical team, guiding technicians and CSRs to ensure professional and efficient patient flow. Manage prescriptions and maintain meticulous digital medical records per Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine standards. Provide minor urgent procedures and surgical cross‑coverage as needed. Required Experience and Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) licensure. Minimum 4 years veterinary clinic experience. Current DEA license (transfer or reimbursement available). Strong leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills. Ability to enforce department procedures and policies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with computer applications; clinic software proficiency in Covetrus Pulse. Physical ability to lift 40‑50 pounds daily.
