Synthetic DNA Process Development Scientist

Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina

Eurofins seeks an organic chemist to develop and optimize synthetic DNA processes, from R&D through manufacturing scale-up. The role involves oligonucleotide synthesis, purification method development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality and compliance in a GMP environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize chemical synthesis processes for nucleotides and oligonucleotides
Develop and enhance oligonucleotide purification methods including HPLC and ion-exchange chromatography
Troubleshoot synthesis and purification issues to improve yield and purity metrics
Author standard operating procedures, batch records, and technical documentation
Mentor laboratory technicians and collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams

Requirements

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry or related field
Minimum 5 years industrial experience in chemical synthesis
Hands-on expertise in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis and purification
Strong analytical capabilities with HPLC and LC-MS instrumentation
Process scaling experience from R&D to manufacturing operations
Familiarity with automated DNA/RNA synthesizers strongly preferred
U.S. work authorization without sponsorship requirement
