Position Title: Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) Instructor/Operator (I/O) – Paramedic

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) Instructor/Operator (I/O). The Instructor/Operator (I/O) provides instructor-led medical training, simulation operations, and training support services for the U.S. Army's Medical Simulation Training Centers worldwide. The I/O delivers classroom instruction, hands-on practical exercises, battlefield trauma simulations, and scenario-based training designed to improve combat medical readiness for Soldiers, Combat Medics, Combat Lifesavers, and healthcare personnel. This position plays a critical role in preparing Soldiers and medical personnel to perform life-saving interventions under combat conditions while supporting the Army's medical readiness mission worldwide.
This position supports Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC/TC3), Combat Medic sustainment training, Combat Lifesaver (CLS) courses, Medical Education and Demonstration of Individual Competence (MEDIC) training, and other medical readiness programs approved by the Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE).
The Instructor/Operator serves as both an educator and simulation operator, ensuring medical training devices, simulators, and training environments are fully operational and capable of supporting realistic, high-fidelity training events. Provides advanced life support instruction and applies paramedic-level clinical expertise in high-acuity trauma training scenarios.
This position is a contingent hire, meaning it is contingent on Fors Marsh winning an upcoming proposal. The interview process will be the same as our standard process, the offer letter (should we decide to move forward) will serve as a letter of commitment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Instruction
- Deliver instruction in accordance with MEDCoE-approved Programs of Instruction (POIs), curricula, and training support packages, ensuring alignment with current doctrine and standards, in classroom, field, and simulation environments.
- Demonstrate hands-on skills performance and scenario-based training in accordance with MEDCoE and Deployed Medicine guidance.
- Conduct and support Combat Medic (68W) sustainment training in accordance with TC 8-800 standards.
- Instruct Combat Lifesaver (CLS) initial certification and recertification courses.
- Teach Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC/TC3) courses and sustainment training across all tiers.
- Conduct Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) training and recertification.
- Provide Just-In-Time Training (JITT) as approved by MEDCoE and local Course Coordinators.
- Conduct Train-the-Trainer programs for military medical personnel.
- Support National Registry Paramedic (NRP) and EMT sustainment training programs.
Simulation and Scenario Operations
- Configure, operate, and monitor medical training simulators and Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS).
- Develop and execute realistic medical scenarios utilizing moulage, environmental effects, and battlefield simulation techniques.
- Operate bleed/breathe patient simulators, airway management trainers, trauma simulators, and virtual patient systems.
- Support classroom instruction, trauma lanes, field exercises, and large-scale military training events.
- Facilitate realistic casualty care exercises that evaluate critical thinking and psychomotor skills.
Exercise Support
- Support military exercises ranging from small teams to brigade-level operations.
- Participate in exercise planning, execution, and evaluation activities.
- Provide operational oversight and scenario management during training events.
- Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs) in accordance with TC 7-0.1 standards.
- Capture lessons learned, identify training gaps, and recommend improvements.
Equipment and Maintenance
- Perform operator-level preventive maintenance and checks on all assigned medical training equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues within operator maintenance capabilities.
- Track equipment readiness and report maintenance requirements.
- Maintain inventories of training supplies, moulage materials, consumables, and simulation assets.
- Coordinate equipment repairs with maintenance contractors and manufacturers as required.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain student rosters, training records, certifications, evaluations, and testing documentation.
- Provide administrative support for certification programs, including maintaining credentialing documentation in accordance with credentialing agency requirements.
- Assist with training scheduling and coordination.
- Evaluate and report individual and collective training performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions in accordance with MEDCoE requirements.
- Prepare reports, training summaries, and documentation required by the Government.
- Support monthly and periodic contract reporting requirements.
Work Environment
- Classroom instruction environments.

- Military installations throughout the United States and overseas.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and movement of simulation equipment.
- Exposure to realistic training environments including battlefield simulations, moulage, and trauma scenarios.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare, Education, or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of emergency medical services, military medicine, combat medic or related healthcare experience.
- Experience providing medical instruction, training, or clinical education preferred.
- Experience operating medical simulation systems and training devices preferred.
- Military medical experience strongly desired.
- Must comply with one of the following:
- Former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Advanced Leader Course (ALC) Graduate
- Former Navy NEC 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman (E-6 or above)
- Former Air Force 4N0X1 (E-6 or above)
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician
Required Certifications
- Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification
- Medically credentialed certified instructor via commercial credentialing agencies in accordance with American Red Cross standards or as directed by MEDCoE, maintained throughout the life of the contract
- Completion and annual certification on TC 8-800 (all tables)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of emergency medical care and trauma management.
- Understanding of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) principles and battlefield medicine.
- Ability to teach adult learners in classroom and field environments.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Experience with scenario-based and simulation-based training methodologies.
- Ability to evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based training platforms.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on-site full time.
- Ability to travel at least 10-20% of the time is required.
Security and Compliance Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Applicants will be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
- Favorably adjudicated Tier 1 (T1) background investigation or higher.
- Compliance with all Army, DoD, installation, and host-nation regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Former Army Combat Medic (68W), Special Operations Medic, Corpsman, or equivalent military medical experience.
- Previous experience supporting Medical Simulation Training Centers (MSTCs).
- Experience supporting EMT-level or Combat Lifesaver (CLS) instruction.
- Experience with Laerdal, CAE, Gaumard, or other medical simulation platforms.
- Experience conducting large-scale military medical exercises.
- Instructor certifications from recognized medical credentialing organizations.
