About the Role As a Designer at Ledcor Technical Services, you will be responsible for the detailed design of outside plant (OSP) elements (aerial and/or underground) and fiber designs for telecommunication networks. You’ll work closely with the engineering team to create constructible GPON network designs using various tools, collaborating with design and construction teams under the guidance of the Design Manager. This role involves both office and field work, supporting construction staff with safety and quality control. Essential Responsibilities Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments. Work with power companies and design power routes and one‑line schematics. Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes. Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records. Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes. Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Adapt within a dynamic work environment. Qualifications College, trade, or technical diploma (preferably civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS). 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam, and Adobe. GIS skills are a plus. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively. Work Conditions Office‑based (90%) with occasional travel ( Remote work (work‑from‑home) initially, transitioning to a full‑time in‑office role in Florence, Kentucky once the new location is operational.
