Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care through the assurance that the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, ensuring patient safety and a supportive environment for staff and patients alike.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, using collected data to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs and goals based on nursing assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of all assessments and interventions.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education based on health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to maintain continuity and safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and engage in team-building activities.
• Identify and pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
