Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day 3x12.0 shift.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting a culture of safety for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the admission date.
• Communicate important information about changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, using effective problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure safety in the work and patient environment according to hospital policies.
• Actively engage in team building and contribute positively to the unit's functioning.
• Monitor supplies and equipment needs to promote cost-effective care.
• Pursue professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific unit only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
