AEO/GEO/SEO Lead

Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. About the Role Search is being rebuilt in real time. Millions of people now start with a question to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity, and the answer they get decides which products they try. When someone asks how to build an app, a website, or a tool for their business, Replit needs to be the answer. We're hiring an AEO/GEO/SEO Lead to own how Replit gets discovered, across AI-generated answers and traditional search. This is a zero-to-one role. You'll define the strategy, then execute it yourself with AI-leveraged production, agency partners, and cross-functional teams behind you. You'll work daily with our Web, Growth, Brand, Content, Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams. The fastest-growing AI-native companies have already turned AI answers into a primary acquisition channel. Your mandate is to do the same for Replit: grow AI referral traffic into one of our largest sources of new builders, keep our traditional search presence compounding, and make Replit the platform AI assistants recommend when anyone wants to build software. Replit moves fast. We ship continuously, experiment relentlessly, and aim to make every builder more productive and creative. We're looking for someone who thrives in that environment: part strategist, part operator, part scientist of a channel that changes every month. What You'll Do Own the AEO/GEO Strategy Define where Replit must show up across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, for which prompts and buyer intents, and build the playbook to win those answers. Set targets, sequence the roadmap, and defend the strategy with data. Win Citations Across the Open Web LLMs cite what they trust: Reddit threads, YouTube videos, high-authority publications, community content, and well-structured owned pages. Build durable programs on each of these surfaces, understand the half-life of an AI citation, and keep Replit ranked as models retrain and retrieval systems shift. Run SEO End to End Own keyword strategy, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and content-driven organic growth in partnership with our Head of Web. Protect and grow search equity through a major site relaunch, and coordinate with our paid search team on keyword coverage. Build the Content Engine Produce and direct content designed for two readers at once: LLM crawlers and humans. Blogs, comparison pages, videos, and structured resources, created at volume with AI-assisted workflows and held to a high quality bar. The durable human work here is judgment: strategy, editorial quality, and distribution. Stand Up Measurement Build reporting for a channel that lacks perfect attribution: AI referral traffic, share of voice in AI answers, citation tracking, and downstream signups and revenue. Run controlled experiments, isolate what actually moves citations, and teach the rest of the company what you learn. Direct Agencies and Tools Own our agency and vendor relationships across search and AI visibility, plus the tool stack that powers tracking and production. Write the briefs, hold the quality bar, and decide what stays in-house. You'll Be a Good Fit If You: Have 5+ years in SEO, organic growth, or content-driven acquisition (ideally within SaaS, technology, or developer-focused businesses), including hands-on AEO/GEO work within the last year Can show real results: AI referral traffic you grew, citations you won, rankings you moved, and how you measured all of it Are technically fluent in SEO: keyword research, crawling, indexing, structured data, site architecture, and log analysis Understand how LLMs actually retrieve and cite sources, and how that differs across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity Write clearly and quickly, and can direct people, agencies, and AI tools to produce content that earns citations Are analytical enough to build credible measurement in a messy, fast-changing channel, connecting organic visibility to traffic, signups, product adoption, and revenue Are comfortable partnering with engineering, product, content, and analytics stakeholders to get changes shipped in a fast-moving environment Love building from scratch: frameworks, processes, and strategy Have a founder mindset: you identify gaps and fill them, move quickly, and don't wait for someone else to define the playbook A collaborative, low-ego approach and willingness to dig into the details Bonus Points: Made AI answers a primary acquisition channel at a PLG, consumer, or developer-facing software company Deep Reddit fluency: you understand how communities work and how to earn credible presence there Experience running YouTube as an organic discovery channel Hands-on with AI visibility and citation tracking tools (Profound, Peec, Ahrefs Brand Radar, or similar) Programmatic SEO at meaningful scale You've built with Replit or other AI building tools and understand our builders firsthand Experience directing SEO/AEO agencies and fractional specialists Full-Time Employee Benefits Include: Competitive Salary & Equity 401(k) Program with a 4% match (US Only) Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Short Term and Long Term Disability Paid Parental, Medical, Caregiver Leave Flexible Time Off (FTO) + Holidays Commuter Benefits (In-Office & US Only) Monthly Wellness Stipend Autonomous Work Environment In Office Set-Up Reimbursement (In-Office Only) Quarterly Team Gatherings In Office Amenities (In-Office Only) Want to learn more about what we are up to?
