Maintenance Technician Full Time

Position Goal Responsible for efficient day-to-day operations by properly maintaining the building, equipment, grounds, and other physical assets of the organization. Position Responsibilities Meet with supervisor each day to discuss special needs, problems, and assignments. Complete all demand work requests and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely manner as assigned. Inspect building and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions or needed repairs, making notes and recommendations. Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches, outlets, light bulbs, tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools. Perform minor plumbing maintenance, such as repairing or replacing leaking pipes, faucets, drains, unclogging drains and toilets, trenching and laying new lines, replacing lines for ice makers, refrigerators, and other appliances. Perform minor HVAC maintenance, such as replacing filters, belts, cleaning coils, operating building management control systems, using appropriate hand, power, or specialty tools. Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work, including preparing surfaces and using a brush, roller or sprayer to apply paints, stains, varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, and small woodworking projects. Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (e.g., furniture, wall panels, cubicles, work surfaces, storage bins, cabinets, lighting) to accommodate user needs and utilize office space using various hand, power, specialty tools, hand trucks, and dollies. Maintain appropriate equipment and records to ensure compliance with regulations imposed by agencies such as OSHA, CMS, State Health Department, AAAHC, and NFPA. Perform driving duties for the Hughston fleet vehicles as assigned. Work flexible hours to ensure special projects, PMs, etc., are completed on schedule. Enhance growth through departmental meetings and outside education programs. Experience & Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or a similar field required. Experience in healthcare maintenance preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or vocational school diploma preferred. Skill with precision tools, operating and cleaning equipment, repairing equipment, remodeling work areas. Able to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings. Skilled in numerical calculations. Must maintain a good driving record and work flexible hours.
