Media Specialist

Eligibility (License) Candidates must hold or be eligible to hold a current license in Media (076). Current, unrestricted licensed teachers are eligible for provisional Media area and will have five years to complete the master's level school Media license requirements. Non‑licensed, provisional licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree in Media or 18 graduate semester hours applicable towards a School Media Coordinator program. The program must be completed within five years of the effective date of the license. Eligibility for the provisional license must be established prior to a contract offer. Minimum Educational Requirements Bachelor's Term 10 Month Teacher Scale Y Teacher Scale Y Important Skills Instructional Leadership and Collaboration Student Engagement and Relationship Building Technology Integration and Resource Management Teach engaging library/media lessons for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade, including literacy, research, and digital citizenship skills, and provide instruction for WIN intervention and enrichment groups. Promote a school wide culture of reading by organizing book club, literacy activities, and two annual book fairs.
