CAC-AD / CSC-AD CounselorOriented Healthcare is seeking compassionate, motivated, and dedicated substance use disorder professionals to join our growing team. We are currently hiring candidates who hold an active Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol & Drug (CAC-AD) or Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol & Drug (CSC-AD) credential. The selected candidate will provide substance use disorder counseling, case management, assessment, and recovery support services while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to deliver exceptional client care.

Compensation

Compensation for the CAC-AD / CSC-AD Counselor position is determined based on several factors, including:

• Years of experience in the behavioral health and substance use disorder field.

• Length of time holding and maintaining an active CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or higher credential.

• Relevant education, specialized training, and demonstrated clinical competencies.

Compensation will be evaluated in accordance with organizational compensation guidelines and may be adjusted as employees gain additional experience, certifications, and increased responsibilities.

Sign-On Bonus

Eligible new hires will receive a $500.00 Sign-On Bonus , payable upon the successful completion of the first week of training , provided the employee remains actively employed and in good standing at the time of payout. The sign-on bonus is subject to all applicable payroll taxes and deductions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Client Assessment and Treatment Planning

• Maintain an assigned caseload of clients.

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and complete all required admission documentation.

• Assess each client's strengths, needs, and areas for growth to develop an individualized treatment plan within seven (7) days of admission.

• Monitor client progress and complete treatment plan reviews at least every 120 days , submitting documentation to the Clinical Supervisor for review and approval.

Counseling Services

• Provide individual and group substance use disorder counseling utilizing evidence-based practices.

• Deliver behavioral health education and recovery-focused interventions during counseling sessions.

• Provide crisis intervention services as appropriate under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor.

Case Management

• Coordinate client care, referrals, transition planning, transfers, and discharges in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate and current client records, including transition and discharge documentation.

• Ensure assigned clients receive random urinalysis screenings in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.

Documentation

• Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation.

• Complete monthly case notes documenting treatment progress, interventions utilized, urinalysis results, and client outcomes.

• Ensure all documentation complies with COMAR regulations, CARF Accreditation Standards, HIPAA requirements, and agency policies.

Clinical Supervision and Collaboration

• Attend weekly clinical supervision and all additional required supervision sessions.

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive client care.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.

Compliance

• Maintain strict client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, COMAR regulations, CARF Accreditation Standards, and all applicable state and federal laws.

• Adhere to agency policies, ethical standards, and professional codes of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure/Certification (Required):

• Active CAC-AD (Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol & Drug) , CSC-AD (Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol & Drug) , or higher Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists credential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders in an outpatient or community behavioral health setting.

• Knowledge of COMAR regulations, CARF Accreditation Standards, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2.

• Strong documentation, assessment, and case management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
