Assistant Store Manager Baseball Lifestyle 101, Garden City, New York, United States About this position Baseball Lifestyle 101 (BL101) began as an Instagram account started by a baseball‑obsessed teenager on his couch, which grew into a community and then into a national brand. Today BL101 has over 200 employees and retail locations in malls and tournament complexes, and can be found in sporting‑goods stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Scheels, and Academy. The mission is to grow the love of baseball and to provide the best off‑field apparel. Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour Responsibilities Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel. Maintain up‑to‑date product inventory sheets and pick lists. Maintain backstock in a neat, clean and organized manner. Interview, select candidates, and oversee a team of retail associates. Create and maintain the schedule for all retail associates. Delegate responsibilities to retail associates. Supervise and guide staff toward maximum performance. Prepare and control the store’s budget, aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency. Monitor stock levels and purchases to ensure they stay within budget. Deal with customer complaints to maintain the store’s reputation. Inspect areas in the store and resolve any issues that arise. Plan and oversee in‑store promotional events or displays. Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store. Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts. Ensure the store fulfills all safety guidelines. Contribute to a positive work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience in retail management, with a strong background in sales and customer service. Ability to manage cash handling, cash registers, and inventory control. Strong leadership and communication skills, able to motivate and manage a diverse team. Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions. Experience negotiating with vendors and managing vendor relationships. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred. Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment with a focus on customer service and sales growth.
