Summary
Chamberlain Advisors is currently seeking an experienced AV Training & Support Specialist for our client, a nationally recognized design-build organization specializing in commercial construction and renovation projects. This highly customer-facing position serves as the critical final link between AV system installation and successful customer adoption, ensuring newly installed audiovisual systems are functioning properly and customers feel confident using their technology. Following installation by subcontracted field teams, the AV Training & Support Specialist will travel to customer sites throughout the United States to verify system readiness, conduct final walkthroughs, provide hands-on customer training, troubleshoot initial issues, and coordinate outstanding items with internal project and technical teams. This individual will work closely with Project Managers, system designers/programmers, field technicians, and service teams to provide a seamless transition from project completion to customer ownership.

When not traveling, this position will serve as a Tier 1 AV support resource , assisting customers remotely with common system questions and technical issues, documenting support requests, resolving problems when possible, and escalating more complex programming, networking, or hardware concerns to the appropriate technical teams.

What You Will Be Accountable For

• Lead in-person customer orientation and training sessions following AV system installations.

• Train administrators, IT teams, presenters, and everyday users on system functionality and operation.

• Explain AV technology and technical concepts in a clear, approachable manner to non-technical users.

• Educate customers on system best practices, basic troubleshooting, and available support resources.

• Build customer confidence and create a positive transition from installation to ongoing system use.

• Travel to customer sites to verify AV systems are functioning as designed prior to final turnover.

• Conduct final system walkthroughs in collaboration with Project Managers and technical teams.

• Identify and document punch-list items, system concerns, or outstanding work.

• Coordinate unresolved issues with project, programming, engineering, field, and service teams.

• Ensure customers receive appropriate project documentation, warranties, as-built information, and ongoing support resources.

• Provide initial troubleshooting during customer training, project turnover, and the early adoption period.

• Serve as a Tier 1 support resource for customers when working from the Milwaukee office.

• Diagnose and resolve common AV system questions and issues remotely when possible.

• Document customer support requests and troubleshooting activity.

• Escalate complex programming, networking, hardware, or system-performance issues to the appropriate technical resources.

• Support warranty walkthroughs, post-installation follow-up, and onsite service needs when required.

• Partner closely with Project Managers throughout project closeout and customer turnover.

• Collaborate with system designers/programmers, field technicians, engineering, and service teams to resolve customer concerns.

• Communicate customer feedback and recurring technical issues to internal teams.

• Identify frequently asked customer questions and recommend improvements to training materials, documentation, and system standards.

• Assist in developing standardized customer training guides, support documentation, and educational resources.

What Qualifications You Need

• 3–5 years of experience in AV integration, commercial AV support, IT infrastructure, technical support, or a related technical field.

• Working knowledge of commercial AV technologies, including displays, audio systems, control systems, conferencing solutions, and basic networking concepts.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify when an issue requires escalation.

• Excellent communication, customer service, and presentation skills.

• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge.

• Comfortable leading customer training sessions and presenting to groups.

• Highly organized with strong documentation, follow-up, and time-management skills.

• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30–50% throughout the United States, with travel concentrated around installation and project turnover schedules.

Preferred:

• CTS certification through AVIXA , or willingness to obtain certification after hire.

• Experience with Q-SYS, Shure, Logitech , or comparable commercial AV technologies.

• Familiarity with D-Tools, Visio, AVCAD , or similar AV documentation platforms.

• Experience supporting commercial construction, AV integration, or integrated technology projects.

• Experience providing customer training, technical support, system commissioning assistance, or post-installation support.
