Job#: 3033970 Senior IT Project Manager – C&I Gas & Power Retail Systems Location: Houston, Texas (Onsite) Employment Type: Contract Role Overview The Senior IT Project Manager for C&I Gas & Power Retail Systems is accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of complex IT initiatives supporting a Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy retail business. This role owns planning, execution, risk management, and delivery outcomes for projects spanning C&I billing, pricing, sales, and supporting retail platforms. This position is approximately 50% focused on a major transformation initiative to consolidate legacy billing systems and 50% on broader C&I IT initiatives. Retail energy experience (gas or power preferred). Key Responsibilities Own full life‑cycle project management for C&I power and gas IT initiatives, from intake and planning through execution, go‑live, and stabilization. Serve as the primary IT Project Manager for a major C&I gas and power billing initiative to consolidate multiple billing systems into a single platform. Manage the delivery of IT projects supporting pricing engines, pricing governance workflows, and deal structuring tools. Lead IT delivery for sales‑facing systems, including CRM, quoting, proposal generation, and contract workflows. Own project‑level financial tracking, ensuring work aligns with approved business cases, budgets, and WBS structures. Act as the IT execution lead, working directly with C&I business leaders and IT leadership to translate objectives into executable plans. Develop detailed work plans, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Manage project tracking, coordinate between business and IT teams, and balance competing priorities across multiple initiatives. Required Qualifications Education: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field is required. Experience: 5–10 years of experience in IT project management with increasing delivery ownership. Demonstrated experience is needed in leading enterprise system implementations or transformations and supporting billing, pricing, sales, or financial systems in a complex business environment. Experience with retail energy (gas or power) is required. Technical Skills: A strong understanding of project management tools such as JIRA is required. A strong working knowledge of project financials, WBS structures, and IT governance is also required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the utility industry. Retail energy experience (gas or power preferred). Experience with data migration or system migration projects. Experience managing projects with multiple systems, vendors, and integrations. Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery approaches. Expertise in IT governance and business process optimization.
