Fishmongers of Michigan dba Bayo Food is seeking a Cook to join our team onsite in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistent portioning, cleanliness, and service standards. This role supports daily kitchen operations by following established recipes and cooking procedures to ensure a great guest experience.

You will work closely with kitchen team members to execute orders efficiently, uphold food safety practices, and maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout your shift.

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, instructions, and portion standards.

• Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring dishes are served correctly and on time.

• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature controls.

• Assist with kitchen prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and maintaining inventory levels.

• Support a smooth shift by communicating with the team and keeping the work area organized.

• Ability to follow recipes, cooking instructions, and food handling guidelines.

• Experience working in a kitchen environment with a focus on consistency and quality.

• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and safe food practices.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and meet service demands.

• Willingness to work full-time onsite in Grand Rapids, MI.

• Prior experience as a cook or in a similar food preparation role.

• Knowledge of basic kitchen workflow, including prep, production, and service timing.

• Experience working with multiple tickets/orders while maintaining quality standards.

• Familiarity with common food safety practices and procedures.

Hourly rate: $18.00
