Position Purpose
The Service Supervisor supports the daily operation of the front-end department by providing leadership and direction to cashiers, courtesy clerks, customer service associates, and other service team members. This position helps ensure exceptional customer service, efficient store operations, compliance with company policies, and achievement of operational goals. The Service Supervisor serves as a leader on duty and assists with resolving customer concerns while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Leadership

• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
• Lead, coach, and motivate front-end associates to provide friendly, professional service.
• Resolve customer questions, complaints, and service issues promptly and professionally.
• Monitor checkout operations to minimize wait times and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Front-End Operations

• Oversee daily front-end activities, including register operations, service desk functions, and customer transactions.
• Monitor cashier productivity, transaction accuracy, and adherence to company procedures.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels and assist with break and meal scheduling.
• Authorize overrides, refunds, exchanges, rain checks, and other service transactions as needed.
• Coordinate front-end activities during peak business periods to maintain operational efficiency.

Cash Handling & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and company financial controls.
• Perform register audits, cash pickups, and till counts as assigned.
• Maintain accountability for front-end cash accuracy and security.
• Ensure associates comply with company policies, labor regulations, and safety standards.
• Support loss prevention initiatives and report suspicious activity.

Training & Development

• Train and onboard new front-end associates.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support.
• Reinforce company standards, operational procedures, and customer service expectations.
• Assist leadership with identifying development opportunities for associates.

Store Operations Support

• Serve as manager-on-duty when assigned.
• Support store merchandising, stocking, recovery, and cleanliness efforts as needed.
• Assist with special promotions, seasonal events, and community engagement activities.
• Collaborate with department managers to support overall store goals and operational excellence.
