Diesel Technician

Diesel Technician Level 3

A&A Concrete Supply is looking to hire full time Diesel Technicians level 3. As a valued member of our team, the Maintenance Truck Tech III is required to perform all duties of the level 1 and level 2 technician. In addition, should show proficiency in one of the two major skill level categories and about 60% proficiency in another category. Category 1 includes internal repairs on engines, transmissions, and gear boxes. Category 2 includes electronic control modules and sensors complex electrical and after treatment repairs. Pay Range Tech III: $34-$41. Travel Required: Estimated less than 25%. Benefits include paid holidays, paid vacation, medical, dental, vision, 401k retirement, $100 credit for boots after 90 days, uniforms provided, tool allowance when applicable, and monthly credit for cellphone use.

Responsibilities include:

• Appropriate tools required to diagnose, perform major repairs in vehicles and to effectively do inspections and routine preventive services.
• Able to use compressed gas torch and adjustments.
• Effectively do inspections and mechanical repairs to equipment and routine preventive services.
• Efficient communication and computer skills for proper file documentation on each job performed.
• Knowledge and ability to identify the proper name of all visible parts and non-visible parts in a vehicle.
• Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance.
• Ensures vehicles meet CHP/BIT/PM inspection requirements.
• Will maintain appropriate record keeping for Bit inspections, DVIRs, work done description and work orders.
• Replace, install and service brake systems, cab and sheet metal components, engine accessories, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and lighting electrical systems.
• Replace, install and service mixer truck equipment, product transfer systems, starting systems, steering systems, transmissions, wheels, hubs and bearings.
• Replace, install frame components and basic diagnose of electronic control systems.
• Replace, install, service and diagnose charging systems, clutches and drive lines, and suspension systems.
• Will inspect and identify vehicle conditions on different types of equipment such as tractors, trailers, or mixers.
• Will install, select, or identify proper tire replacements & legal limit knowledge.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle system engine failure and vehicle system transmission & gear box failure.
• Follow manufacture service and troubleshooting procedures, diagnose and repair vehicle system.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle Aftertreatment systems, Advance Electrical systems, Air brake system and brake valve diagnose.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle Hydraulic system failure.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC failure diagnose.
• Complete all maintenance duties as assigned, and repair all equipment on property including, but not limited to, diesel, plant, or yard equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to keep vehicles and equipment in compliance with DOT and company standards.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school diploma.
• 4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
• 4+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Must have own tools.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associates degree, technical school certificate or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
• 5+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• 3+ years experience welding.
