Full Time Lifeguard

Overview Rossmoor Walnut Creek is a nationally recognized community for active seniors who are 55 and older. With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco. It offers two golf courses, four swimming pools, tennis, pickleball, lawn bowling, and numerous other activities. Activity studios include facilities for art, ceramics, lapidary, sewing, and woodworking. Rossmoor also operates its own movie theater, TV station, and weekly newspaper. This is a full‑time (40 hrs/wk) position with vacation and sick pay, health insurance, dental, vision, employee assistance program, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long‑term disability insurance, and a 401(k) with a matching component. Duties and Responsibilities The lifeguard’s primary function is to ensure the safety of residents, guests, and family members in the pool and pool area. Ensures RWC policies and safety rules are followed; maintains appropriate discipline in pool areas; prepares incident reports as required. When not actively guarding, welcomes residents and guests, answers questions about classes, schedules, and policies related to pools. Performs cleaning of pools, decks, equipment, and maintains chemical balances. Other duties assigned that fall within the purview of the Fitness & Aquatic Manager. Requirements High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Current American Red Cross certification in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, and AED for the Professional Rescuer – conditions of initial and ongoing employment. Demonstrated excellence in customer service, time and priority management. Demonstrated excellence in teamwork and collaboration. Additional Requirements Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record (conditions of initial and continued employment). Ability to meet the Department of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States. Offer contingent upon satisfactorily passing a pre-employment background check and drug test. Previous employment must be verifiable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
