Civil Project Manager - Aviation

Bolton & Menk is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for a civil engineering Civil Project Manager - Aviation to join our team in serving our aviation clients! In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design and construction management for airport projects including extension and reconstruction of runways, taxiways and aprons; fuel systems; vertical infrastructure including hangars and AD buildings; NAVAIDS; etc. Other duties include management of budget and schedule for assigned airport projects as well as assist with marketing of future clients. In this role you will also serve as a client contact to airport boards and airport clients as assigned. If you don't have any experience in this field, don't worry! We are committed to providing you with the necessary training to get you up to speed. While civil aviation experience is not mandatory, we do find it particularly beneficial if you have worked on municipal projects, especially those involving roadway and site inspections. This background can be quite helpful and will make the transition smoother. What You Will Be Doing: Responsible for the work of other engineers and technicians; plans and organizes airport project assignments Serve as a client contact to airport boards/commissions and airport clients as assigned Review and/or prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies Develop, coordinate and review the final design and preparation of plans and specifications Provides technical advice regarding design, construction or modification and repairs to clients, contractors and other staff members Responsible for the management planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel, both design and construction Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports Perform effective technical writing and correspondence Perform business development activities (client needs, research, proposals, etc.) Coordinate construction administration and monitor documentation requirements with field staff Apply broad understanding of civil engineering and other fields to reach innovative and interdependent solutions Assists with the training and development of professional and technical staff Develops relationships with regulatory agencies Travel periodically to work sites and other project related location What We Are Looking For: B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa A minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in the civil engineering field is preferred Experience in plan development and construction contract administration Proven ability to lead the design and preparation of construction documents for projects Project delivery experience working directly with clients preferred Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students.
