BIM Coordinator – Mission Critical / Data Centers Location: Texas Sector: Mission Critical / Data Centers / Healthcare I’m working with a leading electrical contractor that is looking to add a BIM Coordinator to their team in Texas. This is a hands‑on BIM coordination role working primarily across large‑scale data center and mission critical projects, alongside major healthcare work. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating BIM deliverables while also leading a team of modelers and designers throughout project delivery. They’re looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator who enjoys staying close to the technical side of the work and can bring strong Revit modelling experience alongside the ability to coordinate and lead others. The Role You’ll be responsible for supporting the BIM delivery of complex electrical construction projects, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team. Key responsibilities include: Lead and coordinate a team of BIM Modelers and Designers Remain hands‑on with Revit modelling throughout project delivery Coordinate electrical models with other trades and disciplines Carry out clash detection and coordination using Navisworks Review and QA models, drawings and BIM deliverables Identify design and constructability issues and work with the project team to resolve them Participate in BIM coordination meetings with clients, engineers, GCs and trade partnersEnsure models accurately reflect construction requirements and support field installation Provide technical guidance and mentoring to BIM staff Manage BIM deliverables and ensure project deadlines are met Work closely with project and field teams to ensure BIM is effectively integrated into construction What They’re Looking For Previous experience working as a BIM Coordinator or in a similar BIM/VDC position Experience with Navisworks and AutoCAD Experience coordinating models and resolving clashes Background working on complex construction projects Experience with data centers, mission critical, healthcare or other large‑scale commercial projects is highly preferred Ability to lead and coordinate a team of modelers and designers Strong understanding of construction drawings, BIM coordination and field installation Good communication and organizational skills An electrical trade background (journeyman) would be a strong advantage, particularly for candidates coming from an electrical contractor environment, but it is not essential. Projects The majority of the work will be focused on mission critical construction, including large‑scale data centers, with additional projects across the healthcare sector.
