Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position is based in Greenville, North Carolina. The role involves providing specialized care for patients with neurological conditions, post-surgical management, and seizure management, among other complex cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This assignment is scheduled for a 12-hour shift.

• Required Qualifications: NC or Compact License, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), no minimum years of experience specified, and must read and interpret strips.
• Additional Information:
  • Float: No float rotation may be required.
  • Staffing Ratios: 1 RN to 4 patients, based on acuity.
  • The acuity of this intermediate unit is comparable to an ICU at smaller facilities.
  • The ability to utilize skills such as NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), lumbar puncture assistance, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, lumbar drains, IV start skills, peripheral lab draws, arterial blood draws, and various intravenous drips (e.g., cardiac, insulin, heparin), as well as cardiac monitoring is required.
  • All RTO (Request for Time Off) must be given prior to assignment confirmation.
  • Relias exams are required to pass upon booking with 2 attempts; failure on the second attempt will result in pre-start cancellation.
