Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the Finance Department with daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely processing and accuracy Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, including accruals and journal entries Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and vendor statements Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed Assist with audits by providing required documentation and explanations Maintain organized accounting records in compliance with company policies Monitor expenses and assist in budget tracking Maintain accurate financial data and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Support the Finance Supervisor with special projects as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or AS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) High attention to detail and strong analytical skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Skills: Financial analysis Budgeting & forecasting AP/AR management Systems and software proficiency Time management Team collaboration WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed indoors and outdoors. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
