Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.
The RN prevents illness and injury and alleviates suffering through diagnosis and treatment.
Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility.
The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development.
This includes alignment with the Nurse Practice Act, policies, and standards of practice.
The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.


Responsibilities include:
Assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
Managing a group of patients and serving as the primary or accountable nurse as designated.
Educating patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
Utilizing a working knowledge of pharmacology to administer medications safely.
Sharing in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.
Complying with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
Actively participating in and supporting professional governance models.
Engaging in professional development and completing all mandatory education requirements.
Integrating research and current evidence into nursing practice.
Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Performing other duties as assigned.

Preferred skills:
Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting is preferred.


Education:
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing is required.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred.


Certifications and Licensure:
Current Client RN License necessary.
BLS Certification required.
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) based on unit assignment may be required.
