Loan Servicing Specialist

Job Description

TreVita is hiring a Loan Servicing Specialist to be the first point of contact for borrowers. You'll answer customer questions, process payments and account changes, and work with customers on past-due accounts to help bring them current.

What You'll Do:

Customer service

• Answer incoming customer calls, emails, and text messages promptly and professionally.
\n
• Respond to borrower questions about loan status, balances, payment history, and account details.
\n
• Document every customer interaction accurately in the loan management system.
\n

Payments and account changes

\n
• Process customer payments accurately and on time.
\n
• Handle requests to change due dates, set up payment plans, and prepare payoff quotes.
\n
• Process payoffs and confirm accounts are closed out correctly.
\n

Collections and portfolio health

\n
• Manage the portfolio of past-due accounts and work with borrowers to bring them current.
\n
• Contact delinquent borrowers by phone, email, and text, following applicable collection laws and company policy.
\n
• Address returned payments (NSF, closed accounts, stop payments) and follow up with borrowers to resolve them.
\n
• Identify patterns behind returned payments and help keep the portfolio return rate low.
\n

Reporting

• Assist with weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting on payments, delinquency, returns, and portfolio performance.
\n
• Flag trends, issues, and at-risk accounts to management.
\n

What We Look For:

Required qualifications:

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent.
\n
• 1–2 years of experience in loan servicing, collections, banking, or a customer-facing financial services role.
\n
• Experience processing payments and handling sensitive financial information.
\n
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
\n
• Comfortable handling a high volume of calls, emails, and texts in a fast-paced environment.
\n

Preferred qualifications

\n
• Experience with a loan management system (LMS); LoanPro experience is a strong plus.
\n
• Familiarity with consumer lending regulations such as the FDCPA, TCPA, and UDAAP.
\n
• Experience with ACH processing and handling returned payments.
\n
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
\n
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
\n
