Travel Physical Therapist - $2,303 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing – Therapy is hiring a travel Physical Therapist for a 26‑week assignment in Columbia, Illinois. The role involves 8‑hour shifts, 40 hours per week, and requires relocation to the facility for the duration of the assignment. Job Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. The position involves working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, creating evidence‑based treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Core Responsibilities Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using exercise, manual therapy, and modalities. Operate specialized equipment safely and maintain proper calibration. Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document evaluations and interventions accurately. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals to coordinate care. Educate patients and caregivers about home exercise, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management. Maintain a safe treatment environment through infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Assist in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to community or home settings. Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned. Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Experience in physical therapy; new graduates are welcome to apply. Additional certifications or licenses relevant to the position. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficient PC skills. Physical, Technical, and Mental Requirements Physical: Ability to remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, and bend. Technical/Motor: Fine manipulation, ability to assist with procedures and equipment use. Interpersonal: Positive attitude, professionalism when interacting with diverse personnel. Mental: Coping with frequent public contact, meeting deadlines under pressure, working independently or under supervision, concentration throughout irregular schedules.
