We are committed to safety, technical expertise, and setting the standard of excellence in the power industry.Immediate full-time position for experienced Fiber Splicing Technician. Candidate will be responsible for the terminating, splicing, documenting and testing of all fiber optic lines within the customer's network. Five years' experience and experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred. Must be willing to travel. Current fiber optic certifications preferred.Responsibilities:Perform fiber tests with OTDR's, light source and metersTerminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standardsPerform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch and panels.Working knowledge of fiber opticsBasic knowledge of networkingProficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipmentTerminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosuresAbility to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficientlyPerform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and metersLearn and adhere to all safety standardsMust be able to read and understand blue prints, designs and work scopes5 years previous experienceExperience with the following equipment is a plus:Fusion splicer, mechanical splicer, OTDR, power meters, traffic identifiers, digital multi-meters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, toners, duct rodders, ladders, bucket trucks, etc.Qualifications:Associates or Technical Degree preferredCWDM and DWDM experience preferredExperience in carrier technologies a plusPositive attitudeStrong communication skills both written and verbalMust be highly organizedMust display strong work ethic, punctuality and attendanceEPS is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration for employment to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, disability, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation), political affiliation, military service, national origin, age or any other characteristics protected by state or federal laws.EPS does not work with individual recruiters or third party recruiting agencies, and will not recognize claim to any unsolicited resumes or candidate information.
