MIG/Stick Welder

This role focuses on performing high-quality MIG and Stick welding on steel components by accurately reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols. You will work with a range of steel thicknesses and be responsible for setting up welding equipment and producing precise, durable welds that meet production and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine welding requirements and specifications.
• Perform MIG welding on steel components, including flat welding, in accordance with project and quality requirements.
• Perform Stick welding on steel parts as needed to support production and repair work.
• Set up MIG welding machines after they are zeroed out, including adjusting settings based on material type and thickness.
• Weld steel ranging from 20-gauge material to 5/8-inch thickness, ensuring strong, consistent welds across varying sizes.
• Complete and pass a basic MIG flat welding test to demonstrate welding proficiency and machine setup capability.
• Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specified measurements.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments as needed to support production schedules and cross-training efforts.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to perform MIG welding on steel, including flat welding applications.
• Proven ability to perform Stick welding on steel components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure with precision.
• Capability to set up MIG welding machines after they are zeroed out, adjusting settings for different materials and thicknesses.
• Ability to weld steel ranging from 20-gauge to 5/8-inch thickness.
• Willingness and ability to complete and pass a basic MIG flat welding test.
• Entry-level candidates with relevant welding schooling or training are welcome.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Formal welding education, training program, or trade school experience in MIG and Stick welding.
• Comfort working from technical drawings, schematics, and detailed weld symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
• Willingness to learn additional trades and cross-train in other departments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a modern manufacturing environment focused on pavement preservation products and related equipment for asphalt and concrete. The facility produces a wide range of materials such as hot-applied crack sealants, silicone joint sealants, hot-applied mastics, cold-mix patching materials, silicone products, geocomposites, and other pavement preservation materials. The company also designs and manufactures specialized equipment, including melter/applicators for heating and placing sealants and fillers, crack preparation equipment, spray injection patching equipment for pothole and void repair, patchers for applying hot-applied mastics, and sealcoat applicators. You will work around industrial manufacturing equipment and welding stations in a production setting, collaborating with teams across multiple manufacturing locations nationwide. The work involves hands-on fabrication and welding in a facility that emphasizes durable, long-lasting pavement preservation solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
