CRT FT Days

Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the CRT/RRT provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients, including basic respiratory care, intensive respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial blood gas analysis, electrocardiograms, and basic pulmonary function testing. Performs patient care duties consistent with established departmental and hospital standards of care. Abides by all rules, directives, policies, and procedures, and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Employees may be required to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift and may take call. Qualifications Completion of AMA‑approved program for Respiratory Technician (CRT) or two‑year AMA‑approved program for Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Minimum of one (1) year experience in a respiratory therapy department (preferred). Certified Eligible Respiratory Technician or Certified Respiratory Technician and must obtain Respiratory Care Practitioner Certificate (CRT) or Registry Eligible Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist and obtain Respiratory Care Practitioner Certificate in accordance with the Texas Department of Health (RRT). Current CPR and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire; PALS and NRP certifications required within 3 months of hire.
