Prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies in shallow water up to 5 feet and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.Job Description:Prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies in shallow water up to 5 feet and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. **MANDATORY SWIM TEST INCLUDES:**Minimum age: 15 years; Swim 100 yards continuously; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; Complete a timed event within 50 seconds by starting in the water swim 20 yards Submerge to a depth of 4 to 5 feet to retrieve a10-pound object return to the surface and walk or swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and exit the water without using steps or a ladder. \*Please note you must pass the swim test to be considered for this position. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Maintains active surveillance of the spring area.* Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with Red Cross policies, procedures; completes related reports as required.* Know how to prevent and handle emergencies in entry-level shallow water of five feet or less* Maintains effective and positive relationships with the guests, participants, and other staff.* Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines.* Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others.* Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.* Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.* Assists in maintaining cleanliness in Weeki Wachee Springs.* Responsible for opening and closing procedures.* Be punctual to shift.**JOB****SUMMARY**Recreation Attendant assist by performing the duties assigned to you from the manager, while maintaining a great customer services.**SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE*** Customer Services experienced preferred.* Ability to swim and tread water* Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people; ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to learn and develop new skills; ability to problem solve.**PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS*** Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.
