ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hr


Job Overview:


The ENTRY PSR I/Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This individual will also utilize Phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization.


The ENTRY PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner. The ENTRY PSR I will demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this individual will be crucial to maintaining the integrity of the lobby and ensuring that all patients are provided with the expected level of service.


This is primarily a Lobby Greeter position to help patients check in at the kiosk and to help them feel more comfortable while waiting to be called back for labs, while also filling in for breaks and covering for staffing shortages.


Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.


Maintain a safe and professional environment.


Maintains required records and documentation.


Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general along with a willingness to learn new skills.


Job Requirements:

• Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Be willing to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.
• To perform with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• High level of customer service experience and skills are required.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training or experience is required, including internship or externship experience.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of client facing customer service required (e.g., retail, home health aide).
• Some phlebotomy experience is required.
• Keyboard and data entry experience required.
