Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing between 40–160 patients per day across a 26-bed unit with a 5-bed fast track area
• Perform all lab draws and independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips at the RN monitor station
• Care for a diverse adult and pediatric patient population including STEMI and CVA receiving cases, trauma (Level 2 Trauma Center), and patients presenting with complex psychosocial needs
• Operate ventilators and manage critically ill patients as needed within the ED setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, mid-level providers, EMAs, respiratory therapy (24/7), and pharmacy (24/7)
• Rotate holiday coverage with core staff; candidates must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 3–5 years of prior Emergency Department experience required
• Ability to work every other weekend and rotate holiday shifts with core staff

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner FirstNet EMR
• Familiarity with STEMI and CVA receiving center protocols
• Experience working with underserved or low-socioeconomic patient populations, including patients experiencing homelessness or substance use challenges
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with varying patient volumes
