Medical Assistant Position

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care and office operations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations, including measuring and recording vital signs
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
  • Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision, where permitted
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic medical systems
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and exam rooms
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
  • Verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details
  • Handle patient intake and documentation
  • Respond to patient inquiries, including phone calls and messages
  • Assist with billing and coding processes as needed

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant OR Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Health Sciences, or a related scientific discipline required
  • Prior clinical or healthcare experience (internship, lab, or patient-facing role) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, NH.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
