Position Overview:
We are seeking a per diem Registered Nurse for our Ambulatory Hematology Clinic, available Monday through Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver thorough nursing care and education to patients ranging from newborns to young adults with acute and chronic non-malignant hematologic disorders, such as sickle cell disease, anemia, bleeding and coagulation issues, platelet disorders, and neutropenia.
• Assist in the operations of the ambulatory hematology clinic, ensuring smooth patient flow through nursing assessments, direct care, and education for patients and their families.
• Conduct telephone and electronic triage, evaluate clinical concerns, offer nursing advice, and work alongside the medical team to guarantee timely and appropriate follow-up.
• Oversee Epic documentation and In Basket workflows, which include communications with patients and families, messages related to results, medication and refill requests, and clinical follow-ups.
• Coordinate medication management, laboratory and diagnostic follow-ups, post-hospital or emergency care, and ongoing care needs in partnership with the interdisciplinary team.
• Engage with patients, families, healthcare providers, pharmacies, schools, community resources, and other healthcare team members to ensure safe, coordinated, and patient- and family-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a pediatric/adolescent RN is necessary. Experience in inpatient or outpatient hematology/oncology is preferred.
• License/Certification: A valid RN License in Massachusetts is required.
