Job Title: Cardiovascular Invasive Tech

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT Registration in Radiology


Must-Have:
- Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge and competency in moderate sedation administration
- Ability to recognize and assist in the treatment of complications arising from cardiac/vascular procedures
- Proficient in the setup of all procedures


Description:
Assist Cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac and vascular procedures.
Perform technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
Provide care to meet patient needs and handle other assigned duties.
Set up and operate various electrical and imaging equipment and computers.
Display good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Organize and prioritize performance based on procedural findings.
Advocate for patient's needs.
Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results.
Select and operate procedural supplies and equipment based on findings.
Operate both monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
Communicate effectively with patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety.
Recognize and assist with any anesthesia needs for deeply sedated or anesthetized patients.
Collaborate with Research personnel in laboratory-based research activities.
Interact with physicians to facilitate patient safety and satisfaction.
Work with team members and other care providers to plan patient care specific to procedures.
Assume accountability for patient care and direct team members when necessary.
Train and mentor team members effectively.
Interact professionally with various vendors to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
Update knowledge and skills as equipment changes are implemented.
Check and evaluate equipment daily to ensure performance and safety.
Manage the digital archiving system for safe storage of patient images and reports.
Notify appropriate personnel promptly of any malfunctioning equipment.
Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment issues.
Query archived images from deep storage and create CDs for patient information transmission.
Provide care to patients undergoing coronary invasive procedures following established guidelines.
Report significant observations and document care provided.
Maintain a working knowledge of aseptic techniques.
Assist in passing sterile guidewires and catheters while using aseptic technique.
Prepare instruments for sterilization and suggest procedural equipment changes for quality care.
Prepare sterile fields and observe for aseptic technique deviations.
Accurately interpret EKGs and notify physicians of any irregular activities.
