Security Solutions ArchitectMaximus is hiring a Security Solutions Architect to serve as a key technical security partner across AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development teams. You will help shape secure, compliant solutions by engaging early, guiding design decisions, and keeping teams aligned as priorities move quickly. This is a remote position supporting critical, high-visibility work.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Determines security requirements by assessing business strategies and requirements, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studying architecture/platform, and identifying integration points and issuesDevelops requirements and strategies to address information security needs and oversees projects through the implementation phaseWorks with the various information security team members and information technology teams to ensure changes to new or existing technologies are assimilated and functioning correctlyDefines security requirements for information technologies and solutionsPartners with other technical architects within the company to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture processes and practicesEnsures that information security controls are designed and implemented to meet all regulatory and/or contractual requirementsResearch new and emerging technologies to evaluate technical trends and requirementsProvides subject matter expertise and assists with collection of artifacts in support of internal and/or external compliance activitiesDevelops and fosters strategic relationships and establishes key organizational partnershipsEstablishes collaborative working relationships with internal and external business partners and clients to ensure that technology solutions align with security architecture and business strategyPerforms other related duties as assignedJob Specific Duties:Provide security architecture and technical security guidance to solution owners, with primary engagement across OCTO (AI / Solution Architecture Teams) and Business Development teamsAct as a technical ISO stakeholder in Enterprise Risk and Assurance activitiesTranslate security requirements, standards, and controls into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholdersIdentify architectural and solution-level security risks and collaborate with stakeholders to define appropriate mitigating controlsCommunicate upcoming initiatives, solution designs, and security or compliance considerations to ISO leadershipEnsure proposed designs align with enterprise security standards, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirementsDocument security architecture decisions, identified risks, and accepted exceptions to support audit and assurance activitiesIdentify recurring architectural risk patterns and escalate systemic issues to ISO leadership for remediation planningMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experienceProfessional security certification such as CISSP or CCSP is desiredSeven (7) or more years of experience in information technology5+ years of experience in Security Architecture and/or Security Engineering.Experience working with the US Federal government (current/previous federal employee or federal contractor) in a security architecture or security engineering capacity.Strong experience with security architecture principles, patterns, and risk-based design approaches.Experience creating and reading reference architectures.Understanding of how business objectives, contracts, and regulatory obligations influence security architecture decisions.NIST 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Information Systems and Organizations.NIST 800-171 Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations.Federal compliance frameworks and regulatory requirementsUnderstanding of CI/CD Pipelines.Enterprise level internal controls and security standardsCompliance and assurance requirements across regulated environmentsExperience with Cloud security in AWS and/or Azure environments.Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to diverse audiencesUS Citizenship is required.Ability to travel up to 10%, based on the business need.Preferred experience:Experience writing contract language for government proposals.Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Other NIST secure system standards.Maximus is an equal opportunity employer.
