Hereth Insurance Consulting is a Columbia, MO based independent insurance agency built around our clients, not around any single carrier. By comparing options across 100+ carriers, we help clients get better pricing, better protection, and the confidence that their coverage is set up right from the start. We write personal, commercial, and benefits coverage, backed by local knowledge of the mid-Missouri market and ongoing support long after the policy is bound — renewals, claims help, policy changes, and proactive coverage reviews.

We're looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our team and service and grow a defined book of business. This role comes with an established client base already in place — you'll build on those relationships from day one while developing new business opportunities alongside our team. This position can be based in either our Personal Lines or Commercial Lines book, depending on your background.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to understand client insurance requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
• Oversee administration of client policies, including new business, renewals, policy changes, certificates, and claims support
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling additional coverages and services
• Stay informed on market conditions, carrier underwriting guidelines, and industry trends
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, coverage details, and activity within the agency management system.
• Collaborate with internal team members and carrier partners to ensure a coordinated, professional client experience

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Property & Casualty license in the state of Missouri (Life & Health license preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with a client-first mindset
• Comfort working independently while collaborating closely with our carrier partners

Compensation & Benefits

• $60,000–$80,000 (commission-based, independent contractor position)
