About the Role

CDM Technology is seeking two experienced Industrial Technicians to support the prototype and low-volume production of next-generation electric vehicles.

This is not a traditional assembly line position. We're looking for technicians who thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment where every build presents new challenges. If your experience consists primarily of performing the same repetitive task hundreds of times per day, this likely isn't the right fit.

Instead, we're looking for experienced problem solvers who enjoy building complex systems, troubleshooting issues, interpreting engineering documentation, and working alongside engineers to continuously improve the product.

What You'll Do

• Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical systems for prototype and low-volume production vehicles.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
• Perform functional testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting throughout the build process.
• Identify root causes of build issues and work with engineering to implement solutions.
• Modify and rework assemblies as engineering designs evolve.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and shop equipment.
• Maintain high standards of quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
• Support engineering validation, prototype development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, industrial assembly, mechanical systems, automotive, aerospace, robotics, medical device, heavy equipment, or similar technical environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience assembling larger, more complex systems—not repetitive production line work.
• Proven experience testing, troubleshooting, and solving mechanical or electromechanical problems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt as designs evolve.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics (strongly preferred).
• Experience supporting prototype or low-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical integration, industrial equipment, automation, or complex machinery.
• Exposure to electrical systems, wiring, or electromechanical assemblies.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
