Organizational Unit Overview - The mission of the College of Education is the preparation of professional educators and allied practitioners, including professionals in counseling, adult education, instructional technology, and librarianship. Job Duties - The Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations in the College of Education at East Carolina University is seeking applicants and nominations for a tenure-track, nine-month, full-time assistant professor faculty position beginning Fall 2026. The candidate will balance teaching, research, and service related to Educational Leadership in higher education settings. The candidate will (1) teach working professionals primarily in higher education leadership programs offered by the Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations: Doctor of Education (EdD), (2) engage an active research agenda including potential for external funding, (3) connect teaching, research, and service to leadership practice in primarily in higher education settings, (4) serve as dissertation chair and committee member for students in the EdD program, (5) provide service to the university and to rural eastern North Carolina, (6) actively engage with professional organizations at the state (e.g.,NCPEL) and national levels (e.g.,ASHE,UCEAandCPED) levels.Contingent upon availability of funds.

Minimum Education/Experience - An Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Higher Educational Leadership, Community College Leadership, Student Affairs or a closely related field. Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation - None

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education - Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; evidence or demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching, research, and service. Preference is given to candidates with successful experience in higher education. Preference will also be given to candidates with experience or desire to focus on scholarship in rural-serving community college or student affairs settings.
